Fotis Kitsios

Dr. Fotis Kitsios is Associate Professor in Business Strategy and Innovation Management at the Department of Applied Informatics, School of Information Sciences, University of Macedonia, Greece. Fotis graduated from the Technical University of Crete with a diploma in Production and Management Engineering Department. He then went on with a master’s degree on organization and management and completed his Ph.D. on strategy and innovation management with a specialization in new service development. He has been involved in the implementation and coordination of national and European research projects including: Archimedes, RKMnet, ISTOS, MetaForesight, Innoregio, Leonardo da Vinci, Ecos Ouverture, Adapt, Youthstart, Fair. He worked as a business consultant in several SME’s projects in the fields of strategic management and marketing, adopting innovation techniques. He has held management executive roles at Hellenic Post SA, Prefecture of Athens and Ministry of Development. He is also a certified auditor in quality management systems. Fotis has taught Strategic Planning, Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship, Change Management, Marketing and Market Research at numerous academic institutions at graduate and post graduate level, including: Technical University of Crete, University of Central Greece, Hellenic Open University, Open University of Cyprus, Eastern Macedonia & Thrace Institute of Technology, Central Greece Institute of Technology etc. He also teaches in various public and private Vocational Training Centers and institutions and supervises masters and diploma dissertations. Fotis’ scientific research interests mainly focus on strategic management, e-business strategy, new service and product development, innovation and change management, marketing management, social entrepreneurship and multi-criteria decision making.
