Dr. Emmanouil Stiakakis is an Assistant Professor in Digital Economics at the Department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. He holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Cranfield University, UK, and a Ph.D. in Applied Informatics from the University of Macedonia. In the past, he worked as a tutor in an affiliated organization of a British University and was instructor in many seminars. He is currently teaching the following modules at undergraduate level: (i) Digital Economics, (ii) Entrepreneurial Innovation & Productivity, (iii) Virtual Enterprises & New Technologies, and (iv) Production Management. He is also teaching (a) Digital Economics and (b) Entrepreneurship & Innovation, at postgraduate level. He has published in many scientific journals, such as Managing Service Quality, Software Quality Journal, and Journal of Software Maintenance and Evolution. He has also participated in many international conferences, such as the International Conference on Mobile Business, the International Conference on Applied Economics, the International Conference for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Regional Development, the International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies in Agriculture, Food and Environment etc. He has participation in a number of research projects (some of them as scientific responsible). His research interests include the measurement of productivity in the digital economy, digital divide, digital currency, e- and m-government, entrepreneurship & innovation, and the implications of Information and Communication Technologies upon the environment.
